STARTING TO WRITE DRAMA

Have you a story you want to tell?  Do you start writing but get stuck after a few pages? Do you want to write for theatre, film, television or radio?  On this course we will explore the basics: ideas and how to have them, structure, creating interesting characters and writing believable dialogue.  We will at look examples of scripts from all genres and over the week you will develop your own work.

PAUL DODGSON
is a writer, composer and radio producer.  He has written many plays for BBC Radio 4 including most recently Windscale and Betjemen’s Women.  Recent television writing credits include Eastenders and several drama documentary series.

HATTIE NAYLOR
has written for radio, theatre, film and opera. She has won several national and international awards for her radio work. Recent productions include Solaris and The Making of Ivan the Terrible for BBC Radio 4 and a theatrical adaptation of Alice Through the Looking Glass
